Common Name: Babuna

Location:  It is cultivated in hills of J&K, Himachal Pradesh.

Physiochemical Properties:

  • Colour: Blue to deep inky blue
  • Odour: Sweet warm, mellow but persistent, very rich herbaceous aroma with light tobacco and ripe apple like undertones.
  • Specific Gravity at 20°C: 0.8700-0.8900 
  • Refractive Index at 20°C: 1.4900 to 1.5100
  • Optical Rotation: Nill

Uses: It is used in pharmaceutical industry, to flavour high quality wine, tea and in perfumes.
