Location:  Found in many places in India.

  • Colour: Colourless to Pale yellow.
  • Odour: It has an earthy, woody, piney, or balsamic, and at the same time soft, sweet, and citrusy.
  • Specific Gravity at 20°C: 0.8350 to 0.8450.
  • Refractive Index at 20°C: 1.4500 to 1.4600.
  • Optical Rotation: 26 to 34.

Uses:

  • Frankincense oil been shown to reduce heart rate and high blood pressure. It has anti-anxiety and depression-reducing abilities.
  • Frankincense prevents the production of leukotrienes, which cause bronchial (throat) muscles to constrict in people who have asthma.
  • It may help destroy dangerous bacteria, viruses and even cancers.
  • The antiseptic qualities of this oil may help prevent gingivitis, bad breath, cavities, toothaches, mouth sores and other infections from occurring, which has been shown in studies involving patients with plaque-induced gingivitis.
  • Frankincense benefits include the ability to strengthen skin and improve its tone, elasticity, defence mechanisms against bacteria or blemishes, and appearance as someone ages. It may help tone and lift skin, reduce the appearance of scars and acne, and treat wounds.
