Location: Indigenous to the Himalayas, Jatamansi grows up to 1 m at an altitude of 3,000 to 5,000 meter. It is native to the mountainous regions of Northern India.

Uses:

Due to its musky, Earthy, Herbaceous, Camphoraceous wood, and Balsamic odor this oil can be used in a variety of perfume formulations to give a special touch in low conc. In large dosages, it can be used in oriental types of perfume.

This oil can be used in a variety of perfumes (fragrances).

Jatamansi oil is also used to make beauty aids, facemasks, and perfume.

Jatamansi promotes hair growth and imparts black color to the hair. It can be used to slow down greying of hair. Medicated or blended Jatamansi oil (often with almond oil) is extremely beneficial for smooth, silky, and healthy hair.
